The event takes place on Saturday August 20th 2011, from 10am – 3pm.
The West End Dog Show was created on May 13th, 2008. This annual event helps build a stronger pet community in the Vancouver area by celebrating our deep love for our dogs, promoting responsible dog ownership, and by raising money for the BC Guide Dog Services charity.
The West End Dog Show donates all proceeds from the event to the BC Guide Dog Services so they can train more seeing-eye dogs for the visually challenged people who need them.
Unfortunately the BC Guide Dog Services recently had their donation box stolen from a mall in Surrey http://bit.ly/pRwov3
This means that we are going to make a BIG PUSH to raise extra money for the donations they lost last week, so please consider bringing some spare change, cash, or your cheque book to this year’s event
This inclusive event will feature many fun activities for local dog owners & dog lovers to take part in. There will be lots of fun things to do at the West End Dog Show. Sit back and watch a doggie fashion show, get some free dog treats for your baby pooch, have your dog washed for charity, or watch to see who will win the softest dog award.
The layout for this event will feel much the same as a farmer’s market… but for dogs! You can take a walk around and say hello to your local pet shops and animal hospitals; mingle with the other dog owners, or you can enter your dog in a tail-wagging contest.
All dogs are welcome and please remember to bring your leash and some poop bags. There is also a fantastic off-leash area at Nelson Park if your dog wants to go for a run with some of her/his friends!
We look forward to seeing you and your best friend there.
WOOF!! WOOF!!
The West End Dog Show
P.S. – This event will take place inside the off-leash dog area at Nelson park which is located at the corner of Bute and Nelson streets in Vancouver, BC. Nelson Park is located right behind the St. Pauls hospital.
